Importing audio and notes-only meetings
You do not have to record live to add a meeting to Daisy. You can import an existing audio file to transcribe, or create a notes-only meeting with no audio at all.
Opening the new meeting form
- Open the Library.
- Click + Meeting to open the New meeting dialog.
In the dialog you can add a Title (optional), pick Tags, and choose to import audio, type notes, or both.
Importing an audio file
- Click Choose audio… and select a file (the button then reads Change…). Supported formats are .mp3, .m4a, .aac, .wav, .flac, .ogg, and .opus (for example, an iPhone Voice Memo).
- Optionally set the Speakers count. Leave it on Auto-detect to let Daisy work out how many people are talking, or enter a number (1–20) if you already know.
- Optionally add a title, notes, and tags.
- Click Import & transcribe.
Daisy transcribes the file, labels the speakers, and writes a summary in the background — just like a live recording.
If the file decodes but the audio quality is low, Daisy shows an Audio looks rough notice. Accuracy and speaker separation will be best-effort. Click Transcribe anyway to continue, or Cancel to back out.
Creating a notes-only meeting
- Leave the audio field empty.
- Type or paste your notes (stored as markdown), and optionally add a title and tags.
- Click Create.
A notes-only meeting has no audio or transcript, but its notes fold into search and Q&A alongside your other meetings.
