Privacy Policy
Last updated September 29, 2026
Daisy is a local-first app. Your recordings, audio, transcripts, summaries, notes, and tags live on your own devices. The app talks to us only about your license and about updates.
This policy covers what Small Bricktory (“the Studio,” “we,” “us”), legally Apexis Solutions Inc. dba Small Bricktory, receives and the choices you have. It works alongside our Terms of Service.
What stays on your devices
Your meeting content (recordings, audio, transcripts, summaries, notes, and tags), your voiceprints, and your third-party AI provider API keys stay on your own devices. If you pair a phone, meetings and voiceprints sync between your phone and computer over your local network. We never receive them.
What we receive
1. Paid sign-up and payment
When you buy a Daisy license, we collect your name and email address. A third-party payment processor handles payment. We keep a record of your name, email, license key, and purchase and renewal status.
2. App update checks
The app checks for updates and sends your IP address and app version. We use them only to report whether an update is available.
3. Device activation and deactivation
When you activate or release a device, the app sends your license key and a random device identifier. It also checks in periodically to confirm the license is valid.
We do not sell your personal data.
Why we’re allowed to process this data
For people in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, our lawful bases are:
- Performance of your license contract — taking payment and providing the software you licensed.
- Our legitimate interests — enforcing the seat limit, security and fraud prevention, and update notices.
- Your consent — for example, when you email us and ask us to follow up. You can withdraw consent at any time.
AI providers
Daisy can run an AI model on your device. If you connect a cloud AI provider with your own key, or a model server you run yourself, the audio or text you send goes directly from your device to that provider under its privacy policy. We do not receive a copy.
Other connections you control
- Models. The site that hosts a model you download receives your IP address.
- Calendars. Daisy fetches a calendar feed you add from your calendar provider.
- Webhooks. Daisy sends the meeting details you select to the address you set up.
- MCP clients. A client you allow can read the meeting data you grant it.
- Cloud-synced folder. If your data folder is in Dropbox, iCloud Drive, or OneDrive, that service holds it.
Your Daisy devices
Paired Daisy devices sync your meetings over your network, encrypted. Deleting a meeting on one device deletes it on the others.
Our service providers
We use a payment processor, cloud hosting providers, and an email provider. They process data only on our behalf.
Our website
Our website uses no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We may use aggregated, de-identified figures to improve Daisy.
Data retention
Data on your devices stays until you delete it. We keep license and customer records while your license is active and afterward as legal, tax, and accounting rules require. Activation and check-in requests log your IP address briefly. Update-check logs are kept briefly. Email you send us is kept until your request is handled or you ask us to delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold, to receive a copy in a portable form, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent you have given. To exercise any of these, email us at support@daisylocal.app, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. Deleting your customer record may deactivate your license.
Security
Data exchanged with our servers is encrypted in transit. We use reasonable measures to protect the data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
If something goes wrong
If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities where and as required by applicable law.
Children
Daisy is not directed to children under the age of digital consent in their jurisdiction (for example, 13 in the United States and 16 in parts of the European Union), and is not intended for use by them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
International transfers
We are based in British Columbia, Canada, and Daisy is used worldwide. The limited data we hold, and the information handled by our service providers, may be processed in Canada, the United States, and elsewhere. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions. By using Daisy, you understand that this limited data may be processed outside your country of residence.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Daisy after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Governing law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Nothing in this policy limits or waives any non-waivable rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.
