Privacy Policy — Daisy for iPhone and iPad

Last updated October 11, 2026

Daisy for iPhone and iPad keeps your meetings on your device. This policy covers the iOS app. The desktop app has its own policy at /privacy. It works alongside our Terms of Service for iPhone and iPad.

Everything happens on your device

Recording, transcription, speaker identification, and summaries run on your iPhone or iPad. Your recordings, transcripts, voiceprints, summaries, notes, and tags stay on your devices. We never receive them. On supported devices, summaries may use Apple Intelligence under Apple’s terms.

Voiceprints

If you enrol a voice, Daisy keeps a voiceprint to recognise that person across meetings. Voiceprints are biometric data. They stay on your device and your paired computer until you delete them, and are never sent to us or to an AI provider. Where the law requires consent to collect them, that is your responsibility. To delete one, forget the voice in Settings › Voices.

Your calendar

If you allow calendar access, Daisy reads events and attendee names from the calendars you choose to name and tag your recordings.

What we receive

We receive:

  • A one-time free-trial check through Apple.
  • An App Store purchase. If you buy Daisy in the App Store, the app sends Apple’s signed record of the purchase and a random device identifier. Apple passes us no name, email address, or payment details.
  • License sign-in. Signing in to a license bought from us sends your email address and a random device identifier.
  • A periodic license check-in to confirm the license is valid.

Optional AI providers

You can choose a cloud AI provider with your own API key, or a model server on your own computer. The provider you choose receives the transcript text or excerpts needed to summarize or answer a question, under its own privacy policy.

TestFlight beta

If you join the beta through Apple’s TestFlight service, Apple collects crash logs, device and usage information, and any feedback or screenshots you choose to send, and makes that information available to us. Apple handles it under its own privacy policy and the TestFlight Terms of Service. If you were invited by email, we also see the name and email address the invitation went to. We use this information only to test, fix, and improve Daisy. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.

Permissions Daisy asks for

  • Microphone — to record meetings.
  • Speech recognition — to transcribe on your device.
  • Calendars — optional, to list upcoming meetings.
  • Local network — optional, to reach your paired computer or a model server on your network.
  • Camera — optional, to scan the pairing code shown by the Daisy desktop app.
  • Bluetooth — optional, to detect your paired computer and sync with it.
  • Face ID — optional, to unlock your recordings.
  • Notifications — optional, to tell you when a call pauses a recording or your watch asks Daisy to record.

Your Daisy devices

Paired devices sync your meetings over your network, encrypted. A meeting you record here is copied to your paired computer, where the desktop policy applies.

Deleting your data

Delete a session in the app to remove it from your device and your paired computer. Deleting the app removes its data from this device, except your license key and API keys, which stay in the iOS Keychain until the device is erased. Copies already on your computer stay until you delete them. Release a device seat in Settings to free it. To delete license data we hold, email support@daisylocal.app. We keep license and purchase records for six years from the end of the tax year they relate to, as Canadian tax law requires.

Recording other people

Recording-consent laws vary by place. You are responsible for obtaining the consent the law and your participants require.

Children

Daisy is not directed to children under the age of digital consent in their jurisdiction (for example, 13 in the United States and 16 in parts of the European Union), and is not intended for use by them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to this policy

When this policy materially changes, the app asks you to acknowledge the new version.
